The short version

If you sell temp labor, temp-to-hire, or direct placement into manufacturing, you've felt this. The plant HR or operations manager feels a headcount gap on Monday's shift roster. Corporate HR signs an MSA six months later, if at all. Tools built for company-level selling, ZoomInfo, Apollo, D&B Hoovers, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, all collapse a multi-plant employer into one address and one number, which is exactly backwards for a business that sells to the plant, not the parent. As one industrial sales rep put it: "I drive past facilities every day that could be customers, but I have no way to know they exist until I literally see them from the road."
Why the demand is real
Manufacturers and adjacent industries may need to fill 2.3 million technician openings between 2025 and 2030, according to a September 2026 report from Deloitte and The Manufacturing Institute. That demand doesn't spread evenly across your territory. It concentrates at specific plants, the ones adding a shift or backfilling turnover right now, and those plants don't show up as anything more than a line item in a company-level database.
What's actually in the data
This only works if the underlying data is built at the facility level, not the company level. Facilities Finder tracks over 600,000 plants, warehouses, and branches across all 50 states, each one geocoded and linked to its parent company, with more than 20 structured fields per facility, things like building square footage, headcount, products made, EPA and hazardous-waste status. It also ties 25 million employees to the specific facility they work at, not just a company they're associated with, so you can see who's actually on-site at the plant you're targeting.
None of that comes from a single source. It's built from satellite imagery for building size and location, company websites for products and processes, EPA and state filings, business registries and public records, and professional networks, with AI agents reading every source and resolving it onto one record per facility. Manufacturing is the largest single facility type in the database at roughly 182,000 sites, followed by industrial services (168,000), warehouse and distribution (98,000), and repair and maintenance (63,000), so a branch that also places into logistics or industrial maintenance work is pulling from the same underlying dataset, not a separate tool.
Build the list instead of guessing
- Filter by facility type to isolate manufacturing plants, not every business with a NAICS code that happens to touch "manufacturing." The same filter works for industrial services or warehouse/distribution if your branch places into those too.
- Filter by headcount band using the plant's own estimated employee count, pulled from the facility record rather than the parent company's total. A 150-400 person plant running multiple shifts is a different prospect than a 12-person office under the same parent.
- Search by radius from your branch, not ZIP prefix or county line. Drive time is the real constraint, for the sales visit and the workforce commute both.
- Search in plain English when you know the niche but not the SIC code. A query like "precision aluminum machine shops with CNC mills" gets ranked by meaning against the facility profiles, not just keyword match.
- Roll up by parent company, then match contacts to the plant HR or operations manager by domain, not a corporate talent-acquisition contact pulled from an HQ directory. Every facility's people tab lists employees at that specific site, sortable by distance and searchable by role, so you can pull the plant manager or EH&S lead directly instead of guessing from a title on LinkedIn.
- Unlock a verified email or phone once and it's shared with the rest of the team, so the next rep working the same territory isn't paying to re-find a contact someone already found.
