- Search by radius from your branch, not state or ZIP prefix. Drive time to a site visit or a VMI bin service call is the real constraint, not administrative boundaries.
- Match contacts by domain, not job-title guesswork: the maintenance manager or reliability engineer tied to that specific facility's email domain, not whoever has the fanciest title in a corporate directory search.
- Search the site's people by role. Pull up everyone who works at that plant sorted by distance from it, then filter to plant manager, EH&S, maintenance, or purchasing, the actual titles that sign off on a VMI bin, instead of scrolling a corporate org chart looking for someone with "operations" in their title.
That last part matters more than it sounds like. A distributor doesn't need "everyone at Acme Manufacturing," it needs the maintenance manager and the EH&S lead at the Rockford plant specifically, because those are the two people who'll actually take a VMI meeting. And once a rep unlocks a contact at that facility, it stays unlocked for the whole team, for good, not re-purchased every time a different rep gets handed that territory. The next rep who inherits the account isn't starting from a cold list; the plant manager and maintenance contact are already sitting there, attributed to whoever found them first.
