Activity Tracking

Log calls, emails, meetings, and notes on your deals.

Activity tracking helps you maintain a complete history of interactions for each deal. Every call, email, and meeting is logged with timestamps for accountability and context.

Writing Good Descriptions

Be specific and actionable:

Good:

  • "Spoke with John, interested in Q2 trial. Follow up with pricing by Friday."
  • "Sent proposal for $50K annual contract. They're comparing with two other vendors."

Bad:

  • "Called"
  • "Sent email"

Include:

  • Who you spoke with
  • Key points discussed
  • Next steps
  • Timelines mentioned

Editing Activities

You can edit activities you've created:

  1. Find the activity in the timeline
  2. Click the edit button
  3. Update the description
  4. Click Save

Note: You cannot edit automatic activities (created, stage changed, updated).

Deleting Activities

To delete an activity:

  1. Find the activity in the timeline
  2. Click the delete button
  3. Confirm deletion

Note: You cannot delete automatic activities.

Activity Timeline

The timeline shows:

  • Activity icon and type
  • Description
  • Relative time (e.g., "2 hours ago")
  • Activities are sorted newest first

Scroll to see older activities. The timeline loads the most recent 50 activities by default.

Best Practices

Log Immediately

Log activities right after they happen while details are fresh.

Be Consistent

Use the same activity type for similar interactions (e.g., always use "Email Sent" for outbound emails).

Include Context

Write descriptions that future-you will understand. What was discussed? What's the next step?

Reference People

Mention who you spoke with by name for clarity.

Note Follow-Ups

Include any promised follow-up actions and dates.

Using Activity Data

Preparing for Calls

Before calling, review the activity timeline to refresh your memory on previous conversations.

Handoffs

If someone else needs to take over a deal, the activity timeline provides complete context.

Pattern Recognition

Review activities to identify successful patterns — what works in your sales process?

Accountability

Activities provide a record of when actions were taken, helpful for coaching and review.
