Radius-Based Search

Search for facilities within a distance from specific locations.

Radius-based search lets you find facilities within a specified distance from one or more locations. There are two ways to use radius: as a filter in Facility Search, or as a territory creation method using Pin Drop.

Radius Filter in Facility Search

The quickest way to search by radius without creating a territory.

How to Use

  1. Go to Facility Search
  2. In the Location filter, select Radius
  3. Enter an address, city, or place name
  4. Select your radius distance: 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles
  5. Results update to show facilities within that radius

When to Use

  • Quick, one-off proximity searches
  • Finding facilities near a customer or prospect
  • Planning a day's route from a starting point

Pin Drop Territories

For reusable radius-based territories, use the Pin Drop method.

How to Create

  1. Go to Territory
  2. Click Create New tab
  3. Select Pin Drop from the method dropdown
  4. Drop pins on the map (click to place, or search for addresses)
  5. Adjust the radius for each pin (1-500 miles)
  6. Add multiple pins if needed
  7. Enter a name and save

Pin Controls

For each pin, you can:

  • Drag to reposition
  • Adjust the radius slider
  • Enter a custom label
  • Delete the pin

Multiple Pins

You can drop up to 25 pins per territory. Useful for:

  • Multiple office locations
  • Key customer sites
  • Distribution centers

Overlapping circles are merged into a single territory.

Radius Distances

Available radius options:

DistanceUse Case
5 milesDense urban areas
10 milesMetro areas
25 milesSuburban/exurban
50 milesRegional coverage
75 milesLarge regional
100 milesMulti-city coverage
100-500 milesAvailable only in Pin Drop

Address Search

Both the Radius filter and Pin Drop support address search:

  1. Start typing an address, city, or place name
  2. Suggestions appear as you type
  3. Click a suggestion to set the center point
  4. Powered by Mapbox for accurate geocoding

Search Tips

  • Include city and state for best results
  • Zip codes work well for precise locations
  • Landmark names (airports, stadiums) are often recognized

Use Cases

Field Sales Rep

"Show me all chemical manufacturers within 50 miles of my office."

  1. Radius filter → Office address → 50 miles
  2. Add Industry filter for chemicals
  3. View on map for route planning

Multi-Location Coverage

"I cover three distribution centers, each with 25-mile radius."

  1. Create Pin Drop territory
  2. Drop pins at each DC address
  3. Set 25-mile radius for each
  4. Save as "DC Coverage Zone"

Trade Show Follow-Up

"Find facilities within 100 miles of where the trade show was held."

  1. Radius filter → Convention center address → 100 miles
  2. Add relevant industry filters
  3. Export for follow-up

Best Practices

Choose Appropriate Radius

  • Too small: You'll miss opportunities
  • Too large: Too many results to work efficiently
  • Start with 25-50 miles and adjust based on results

Combine with Other Filters

Radius alone may return thousands of facilities. Add industry, revenue, or other filters to focus.

Save as Territory

If you'll search the same radius repeatedly, create a Pin Drop territory to save time.
