Drawing Territories
Create territories by drawing custom shapes on the map.
The Draw Polygon method lets you create custom territory shapes that don't need to follow administrative boundaries.
When to Use Draw Polygon
- Your territory follows roads, rivers, or natural features
- You need a shape that doesn't match county or state lines
- You want precise control over the boundary

Drawing Tips
Keep It Simple
Simpler shapes with fewer points perform better. You don't need to trace every curve precisely.
Use Zoom
Zoom in for more precise drawing. Zoom out to see the overall shape.
Plan First
Before drawing, zoom out and plan your route. It's easier to draw in one pass than to edit extensively.
Check Coverage
After drawing, look at the facility count to ensure you've captured the expected area.
Editing Drawn Territories
To edit a drawn territory:
- Go to My Territories tab
- Click the edit button on the territory card
- The map loads with your existing shape
- Modify the points as needed
- Click Save Territory
Common Shapes
Rectangle Coverage

- Click the four corners
- Double-click on the fourth point
Following a Highway
For coverage along a route:
- Draw a polygon that extends on both sides of the highway
- Use more points along curves
- Set appropriate width from the route
Excluding an Area
To exclude an area from your territory:
- Draw the outer boundary
- Then draw an inner boundary around the excluded area
- The polygon will have a "hole" in it
